Simple Map Kit (SMK) does not require licensing nor does it rely on pay-for-use threshold services like Google Maps. The SMK Editor allows users to rapidly configure web mapping applications that consume data via multiple formats from the BC Geographic Warehouse or other sources.
Changes are available for asynchronous review within the Editor. The mapping application code generated by the SMK Editor is portable; deploy it anywhere there is web access depending on your needs and audience.

The Simple Map Kit was commissioned by the Data Systems and Services Branch as there was a need to modernize one of our legacy self-service web mapping products. Mapping Services is an Agile team that is responsible for the SMK and other web mapping products and data access services.
