Our partner collaboration process
Thanks for your interest in partnering with us. We’re excited to work with you to create and maintain your content on digital.gov.bc.ca.
To facilitate seamless collaboration, we have a defined process.
Last updated on
Step 1: Introductory call
Our product owner will begin by having an introductory call with you to understand the needs and scope of the work. The more detail you can provide at this stage, the better we can plan and execute our shared vision.
Information we need from you
Project overview
A description of the project, its purpose and its context within your broader goals.
Constraints
Potential limitations or challenges that we should be aware of.
Objectives
Clear, specific objectives that you want to achieve through publishing your content.
Designated contact
Information about who is responsible for seeing this project through on your team.
Content needs
Details about the type of content you need and an estimate of the volume of content required.
Timeline
An estimated timeline for the project, including key milestones and deadlines.
Minimal Viable Product (MVP) or next iteration expectations
Details about what needs to be solved and completed for your go-live date.
Third parties
Information about third party partners who will be involved in the project from your side.
Required documentation
We require certain documents to be in place to maintain a smooth project flow. These can include:
- Current or existing content
- Subject matter information
- Any previously completed design research
Step 2: Partner agreement
Once scoping the work is complete, we’ll send a partner agreement with the details collected from the introductory call.
This partnership agreement will outline the services, deliverables and ways of working that both parties will agree to follow.
This will be a joint effort to draft the project specifics and we welcome the prospect of any standards you wish to assert.
Some non-negotiable standards you can expect from our end include:
- A mutual respect for expertise
- A commitment to quality content that’s free of duplication, including the understanding that the content team will likely edit your content to align with style guides, plain language principles and user research
- An understanding that the content team maintains ownership and website management of digital.gov.bc.ca
Step 3: Kick-off meeting
After signing the partnership agreement, the content team will schedule a kick-off meeting. This meeting is used to introduce team members and get alignment on the project’s objectives, timelines and responsibilities.
We’ll collectively outline and agree upon:
- The distribution of roles and responsibilities
- Necessary approvals
- What communication channels we’ll use
- When and how often project leads will meet
- Next steps
Beyond launch
Our partnership doesn’t end once the MVP content is live. We understand the importance of keeping content relevant, effective and enhanced based on user feedback.
Content update options
We offer flexible options for making future content edits:
- We can continue to update the content at your request
- We can set up a member of your team as a contributor
