Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is Microsoft’s enterprise cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) solution. Azure AD is the backbone of the Office 365 system, and it can sync with B.C. government’s on-premise Active Directory and provide authentication to other cloud-based systems. This means that you can make use of existing user accounts rather than creating new ones.
Azure AD easily integrates with Software as a Service (SaaS), custom applications, multifactor authentication (MFA) or Conditional Access (CA) capabilities and Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Consumer (B2C) integrations.
Active Directory is a well-established and critical piece of B.C. government’s identity management infrastructure.
