Who we are

We are a small, specialized group that advises the Government Chief Information Officer and the Deputy Ministers’ Committee on Digital and Data on setting the strategy for technology and digital service delivery and making sound investments in technology and digital service delivery.

The team

Secretariat, Finance and Operations 

This team is the secretariat for the Deputy Ministers’ Committee on Digital and Data and manages the Minor IM/IT Capital Envelope on their behalf.  They provide the efficient financial management and financial control necessary to support the projects funded by DMCDD. 

Digital Advisory Services

This team specializes in assisting ministries in the development of robust investment cases, meticulously evaluating them for alignment to best practices and the Deputy Ministers’ Committee on Digital and Data evaluation criteria. The team supports these investments by helping ministries not only achieve their intended outcomes but also deliver substantial value to the residents of British Columbia. 

Digital Strategy and Strategic Policy  

This team develops innovative strategies and policies to guide the province towards modernization and transformation of programs and services. Work includes the Digital Code of Practice, the Digital Plan, a Common Component governance program and application asset management.

What we do

We work at the centre of one of Canada’s leading digital governments in the midst of a digital revolution that is changing the way people interact with government and access public services.

We focus on 3 sets of activities: 

  • Helping the Government Chief Information Officer set cross-government digital strategy and policy for government
  • Helping the Deputy Ministers’ Committee on Digital and Data allocate and assure funding for digital and technology initiatives
  • Reporting on the value and outcomes of our strategies and investments
