Bringing together Geographic Information System (GIS) practitioners within the Natural Resource Sector to learn from one another and discuss topics of interest to the community.

Who we are
We are GIS practitioners, primarily from the Natural Resource Sector ministries.
What we do
Our community of practice is a place for GIS practitioners to build professional relationships, learn from and leverage other’s areas of expertise, and to stay informed about what is new in terms of best practices, efficiencies, software and government infrastructure.
How to participate
Connect with us on MS Teams.
We meet by conference call (with webinar presentations) every six to eight weeks. Each call usually involves the presentation of one or two topics of interest or GIS projects from the community.
We engage in conversation through our MS Teams channel.
Face-to-face meetings are planned for every 24 months. They give opportunities to build relationships, discuss CoP business, recognize achievements, share expertise and participate in training. In-person meetings give the CoP the (often needed) ‘boost’ to continue the ‘culture of learning and sharing’ through conference calls for another two years.
